Covid-19 Natural preventatives IndiOdyssey Yoga

 What are we up against?

Like everybody else in the world, when the news of Covid first began breaking and the ensuing panic and lockdowns began, I was right there with you all. Not knowing what it was, I took all the recommended precautions.

Then, as time wore on and I began doing my own investigations, I developed my COVID routine that was really just an extension of my already very healthy daily routine.

The initial lockdowns gave me plenty of time to research and future develop my already healthy routine based on yoga and Ayurveda.

Here’s my strategy for staying healthy during this pandemic and works equally well for any flu or cold seasonal ailments:

Here’s my daily (almost) flu and cold busting routine

Jaal Neti – I actually made a video on this, so check out the link above. It’s also included in my new, soon to be released online learning course “kick start your day the yogi way” which by the way I am looking for beta testers if you are interested just leave a comment below or direct message me.

  1. The water should be warm and lightly salted (like tears), and I’ve added drops of Tulsi essence to boost the immune fighting abilities. One cup full through each nostril every day.
  2. I also do a sutra neti, but this is a more advanced yogi cleaning process, so I’m not advising you to try this one on your own.

Finish with a gargle of some warm salt and Tulsi water.

Then take a drink of room temperature water with several drops of Tulsi essence added to it.

Next, an invigorating nasal & lung exercise

Kapalabhati – this really cleanses the nasal passages and does some deep down cleaning in the alveoli of the lungs, exchanging out old stale residual air deep in the lungs and forcing out virus and bacteria-ridden dust particles. Super healthy. It’s a series of sharp, forceful exhales and passive inhales.

Sharp exhales through the nose, with passive inhales also through the nose.

Take ashwagandha, an herb that’s been around for thousands of years and has proven effectiveness in fighting respiratory stress. Ashwagandha is considered an adaptogen that enhances the “state of non-specific resistance” in stress, physiological conditions linked with various disorders of the neuroendocrine-immune system.

Studies show ashwagandha possesses anti-inflammatory and immune-enhancing properties.,

During the day, make yourself an herbal tea with Tulsi, green tea, Star anise, cloves, cinnamon, fresh lemon, and raw honey. Check out the links below in the description for tea recipes you can drink every day to help keep your body mind and spirit fit.

To Recap – daily as possible:

  1. Use a water neti pot with warm salt water and Tulsi drops
  2. If you know how, do sutra neti
  3. Start doing kapalabhati. Build up to 3 rounds of 90 expulsions each day.
  4. Take the adaptogen herb Ashwagandha
  5. Take warm water with concentrated Tulsi drops
  6. Have a warm Tulasi tea with STAR ANISE, and other herbs and spices

We will be publishing a course soon on our website about how to incorporate yoga and Ayurveda principles into your daily life even if, or especially if, being a reclusive yogic guru is not your goal in life. But you appreciate the benefits that you can receive by following the principles of these ancient natural sciences and would like to try them out.

If you are interested in beta testing this course for us, please leave a comment below and we’ll get in touch with you.
